Our performance at Caerphilly’s BIG CHEESE celebrations began in the Inner Ward of the castle. Watched by an enthralled crowd, a larger-than-life-size puppet of “Gwrach-y-Rhybin” (the Moat Hag) led a procession of drummers and dancers around the castle before dramatically arriving at the Inner Ward itself. Hephzibah Welsh Baptist Church 2011

This was the choir’s first performance in an old-style non-conformist chapel with its balcony, pulpit, “big seat” and wooden pews. In these highly traditional surroundings we enjoyed making the old walls echo to the sound of choral singing in full harmonies and blazing colours! Continue reading

Blackwood Miners’ Institute 2011

Our first concert of 2011 was a big one! Performing at Blackwood Miners’ Institute on Friday 20th May was the Choir’s first professionally produced stage concert. With the stage lights in our eyes and a near capacity audience (once again including local dignitaries), we stepped up to the mark and did ourselves proud. Continue reading

Summer Concert 2010

After plenty of hard work learning brand new pieces during the early months of 2010, July arrives and it’s time for our first of two Summer Concerts. The venue was St Helen’s Catholic Church in Caerphilly and took place on Friday 2nd July at 7.30pm. Continue reading
